Stories of God’s provision and grace are a huge part of Doug’s life after 14 mission trips to Romania, and nine more to other countries. He has a passion for bringing hope to children and healthcare to villages where needs are the greatest. He also has an intense heart for the homeless in his community.
Doug has served on the Board of Good News Clinics – Georgia’s largest free clinic – for 10 years and was appointed in October 2011, by Governor Nathan Deal as a North Georgia Commissioner to the State Housing Trust Fund for the Homeless.

In March 2012, Doug initiated the Hall County Collaborative in cooperation with Simon Solutions, Florence, AL., to facilitate sharing benevolent assistance of 37 faith-based, volunteer, and government agencies with families in poverty in Hall County. The database is also the linchpin for monitoring our compassion through the United Way Compass Center.
Doug volunteers weekly with Meals on Wheels through the City of Gainesville Community Service Center, and assists efforts at Family Promise, Habitat for Humanity and Promising Futures whenever possible. Doug has been retired for 16 years and lives in Gainesville, Georgia. He worships Christ at the First Baptist Church and Free Chapel Worship Center.
Jerry M Deyton
Pastor Jerry lives in Gainesville Georgia with his beautiful wife Teresa where they enjoy their children and grandchildren. Jerry is the owner of a business that installs architectural millwork, but his true work is being a street pastor. Jerry founded and operates The Way, a Homeless Day Center at 857 Bradford Street, Gainesville, GA. The Way serves two meals per day and provides showers and clean clothes on Friday. The Way assists their clients needing I.D. and other documents and helps them to get jobs, and drug and/or alcohol rehabilitation. Jerry and The Way meet God’s people where they are and show them the love of God is still real and shows them that God is willing to help them if they are willing to help themselves.

Ed is a longtime resident of Hall County GA, Ed serves as the President of Regent Capital, Inc. and is a realtor with Purdy Real Estate.
My wife, Beth and I have been married since 1999 and we have two beautiful daughters, Kate and Sara. We have been active members of Lakewood Baptist Church in Gainesville also since 1999, where I actively serve as a deacon as well as on our missions’ team and other volunteer positions within our church. I currently serve as Vice President of Business Development for New Leaf Landscape Services where I have worked since 2012. During this time one of my biggest accomplishments has been starting our mentoring program, where we have mentored 55 team members since 2015. My favorite verse is Matthew 20:28 which says, “just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.” In my free time I enjoy running, reading and hanging out with my family. I am honored to serve on the NGW board and look forward to making an impact in the lives of men in our community.
